  • Computer literacy programme was initiated by the government of tamilnadu in all government arts and science colleges to enrich all undergraduate non-computer science students from the year 2000-2001.

Features

  • This course was exclusively designed and geared with updated systems towards providing the required knowledge to the students and for their upliftments in computer literacy.
  • This course has been conducted for students from all disciplines excepting computer science.
  • Initially, a separate lab was established with 25 computers and other necessary equipments and a certificate course was conducted in NIIT, under a contract period of 5 years.
  • In the year 2005-2006, the CLP lab with all equipments was handed over to the college by NIIT and thereafter course had been conducted successfully for all the first year under graduate students.
  • For this programme, a separate well-equipped air conditioned computer lab with internet broadband connectivity has been developed. Each and every student has been provided with a separate terminal.
  • Six month course is being offered for Rs.700/- with 90 hours practical and 60 hours theory classes. An examination is conducted by the directorate of collegiate education, chennai at the end of the course and a valid certificate is issued.
